In the countries of south of the world is common to find that the boys – when they are not exploited in the work – spend most of their time in the streets. In the image of Dana Caspi the 4 boys – under the “direction” of the woman sitting on the steps – they improvised a dance school on the sidewalk of the house. The aspect that gives more thickness to the picture is surely the attention and the serious attitude that the two young couples show to follow councils of the teacher. There are no special meanings “hidden” to be found in the photo by Sumana Halder, and certainly not necessary, because the image is beautiful to her: there is the tenderness of the three children who observe the water and the boat, there are the tones warm who transmit serenity, but above all there is a perfect composition. Despite the unusual cut, since all subjects in the image (including the boat) are “placed” in an order designed to give great harmony. Nonostante il taglio insolito, dal momento che tutti i soggetti nell’immagine (compresa la barca) sono “collocati” in un ordine studiato per dare grande armonia.

La foto di Nico Coratella potrebbe illustrare benissimo un trattato di sociologia contemporanea nel capitolo che riguarda i giovani di oggi, perennemente on line e con lo sguardo sempre rivolto al proprio smartphone. Il ragazzo e la ragazza sono uno accanto all’altra: non importa sapere se si conoscono o se magari sono fidanzati tra loro, quello che colpisce è la loro concentrazione, rivolta esclusivamente al telefonino. Questo è dovuto probabilmente alla “tirannia dello scatto”, che congela un attimo e ci impedisce spesso di capire cosa è avvenuto prima o cosa avverrà dopo. A noi, comunque, piace immaginare che subito dopo avere inviato l’sms (o interrogato Facebook) i due ragazzi si guarderanno, si parleranno, e interromperanno così l’isolamento provocato dal loro rapporto esclusivo con il telefonino.(recensione a cura di Carlo Traina)
The advertisements are placed in the streets to attract attention, to intrigue, to bring the passers to read and be involved in the message it conveys. The man in the picture goes over, and try to establish with the woman portrayed a physical contact: the outstretched hand panel renders evident the desire of possession by man, but the touch is not kind, and this surely derives from awareness that the woman with the smile will never be genuinely achieved. In this photo Butch Clay Benskin tells a lot of hardship and that we meet frequently in the streets of the metropolis and that often look with indifference.(rewiew by Carlo Traina)
this photo seems to be taken on the text of one of the most famous pieces of PFM historical group of Italian progressive music. The words well describe the image of the author Fred Trobrillant … I do not know what they are now I am a man in search of himself No! I do not know what they are now only the sound of my step ….. The young woman in this picture looks straight out of a novel by Banana Yoshimoto. The bewildered look turned toward something undefined seems to move it away from the frenzy of the street, by colors and by the passage of passers, jacket and bag are tight under his arm as to want to protect. The author Amos Farnitano perhaps with only one frame fails to describe the loneliness of youth in a big city like Tokyo. Quoting the writer, “The road is always decided, but not in the sense of fatalistic. Are our continuous breathing, the looks, the days that follow to decide it naturally “.(rewiew by Roberta Pastore) La giovane donna di questa immagine sembra uscita da un romanzo di Banana Yoshimoto. Lo sguardo smarrito volto verso qualcosa di indefinito sembra allontanarla dalla frenesia della strada, dai colori e dal passaggio dei passanti; la giacca e la borsa sono strette sotto al braccio come a volerle proteggere. L’autore Amos Farnitano forse con un solo frame riesce a descrivere la solitudine giovanile in una grande metropoli come (….). Citando una frase della scrittrice “La strada è sempre decisa, non però in senso fatalistico. Sono il nostro continuo respirare, gli sguardi, i giorni che si susseguono a deciderla naturalmente”,
A dark road, the solitary walk of an enlightened man of car lights, the only light that shows the way. Sometimes just a particular to tell us many things. A volte basta un particolare a raccontare molte cose. Non vediamo il suo volto, ma possiamo immaginare i suoi pensieri e se stiamo in ascolto possiamo sentire il rumore dei suoi passi sull’asfalto. Un ambientazione metropolitana che potrebbe ricordare un film del 1969 diretto da John Schlesinger Un uomo da marciapiede (Midnight Cowboy) dove Il giovane texano Joe Buck, stanco della sua vita noiosa e piena di brutti ricordi e del suo lavoro di lavapiatti in una tavola calda, decide di partire per New York.
Sicuramente lo sguardo di un bambino sul mondo è diverso da quello di un adulto, lui guarda dalla finestra in modo diverso. Forse un adulto lo fa per passare il tempo, mentre un bambino lo fa per curiosità. O forse – come nel caso della bambina della foto – lo fa per immaginarsi fuori a giocare, o a correre con la bicicletta “imprigionata”, come lei dietro la finestra, sul balcone.(recensione a cura di Carlo Traina )
Non sappiamo cosa incuriosisce il bambino ripreso dietro il cancello, cosa lo sta interessando e cosa sta provocando l’espressione dubbiosa e un po’ triste. Però quello sguardo ci attrae, perché è intenso e ripropone l’eterno fascino di scoprire, attraverso gli sguardi dei bambini, quanta grande sia la loro sensibilità e la loro capacità di interrogarsi e di emozionarsi mentre crescono.(recensione a cura di Carlo Traina)
